  4. Press Download circle PNG.

What you get

  • A square PNG with your picture cut into a circle.
  • See through corners, so the circle sits on any color or page.
  • Your choice of 256, 512 or 1024 pixels, or the full size of the crop.
  • The file is saved with your original file name and the word circle added.

Why save a round image as PNG?

A JPG cannot have see through areas, so a round JPG always has a white or black square around it. A PNG can keep the corners clear. That makes PNG the right format for profile pictures, logos, stickers and round icons.

If your picture is a WEBP or AVIF file, you can open it here as well. Read PNG vs JPG to see when each format is the better choice.

Frequently asked questions

What if my picture is not square?

The circle is cut from the largest square that fits inside your picture. Move the sliders to choose which part of the picture you keep. Zoom makes the square smaller, so you get closer to the middle of your frame.

Are the corners really see through?

Yes. Everything outside the circle is clear. Open the PNG on a colored background to check.

What does Full size of the crop mean?

The PNG uses the pixel size of the square you cropped, up to 4096 pixels wide. Zooming in gives a smaller file because the crop covers less of your picture.

Is my image uploaded?

No. The circle is made in your browser, on your device.
