Getting the share image right





Use an image at least 1200 × 630 pixels, saved as JPG or PNG. Keep important text away from the edges, because some apps crop the sides or show a square version.





If a link still shows an old image after you change the tags, the app is using a saved copy. Facebook’s Sharing Debugger and LinkedIn’s Post Inspector let you refresh it.





Frequently asked questions





Why are there no twitter:title or twitter:image tags?





X reads the Open Graph title, description and image when its own tags are missing, so repeating them adds nothing.





Do Open Graph tags help SEO?





They do not change rankings. They make shared links clearer and more clickable on social apps and in chats.





Why does the preview say my image could not load?





The image address must be public and start with https. Some sites also block their images from loading on other sites.
